Learning by imitation
We become what we imitate. Before students find their own voice, they must imitate exemplary models in grammar, rhetoric, art, and virtue. Imitation is not a lesser form of learning โ it is the ancient and proven path to genuine mastery. Homer preceded Virgil. Virgil preceded Milton.
